Some highlights of Africa Web TV in 2014

With 2014 drawing to a close, Africa Web TV has had its own fair share of the good, the bad and the ugly. At the beginning of the year, there was a cloud hanging over the Africa Web TV project. Now at the end of the year, it has not only survived but it has grown in strength and it is standing as solid as the great Kilimanjaro Mountain! Africa Web TV continues to set the standard for other Dutch-based “African TV” organisations to follow. We have never been about quantity, we leave that to others.

At Africa Web TV, being better is just a stepping stone to being the best. Even as small as Africa Web TV is as an organisation, we go places where people and organisations with bigger resources do not in search of stories that interest our target group. Despite the odds, we’ve been to Nigeria, Kenya, Poland, France, Germany and several cities in The Netherlands amongst others in 2014 to bring our loyal viewers various items of interest. We have new cities and locations both in Africa and beyond already lined up for 2015!

It has been a most productive year for Africa Web TV. We’ve brought you items on fashion, interracial marriage, music, personal profiles and more. We have covered the controversial subject of gays and lesbians in Africa and brought you some sights and sounds of some African cities and places. It has also been a very bizarre and scary year (remember the creative director of Africa Web TV was kidnapped along with 4 others by some hoodlums in Nigeria and also jailed by the incompetent Nigerian police). However, Africa Web TV is ending 2014 on a positive note. It is stronger than ever and ready for the next exciting page in this interesting storybook.

Perhaps the greatest achievement of Africa Web TV in 2014 is acquiring its own studio in Rotterdam in October. Even though the studio is a temporary arrangement, Africa Night Productions (the parent organisation of Africa Web TV) is spending the holiday period building it into a multi-purpose studio. Once it is finished, Africa Web TV intends to bring you more items in the studio as soon as possible. Talk shows, news, drama and entertainment, you name it. 2015 will see the launch of the first reality show on Africa Web TV! This is the only secret we are letting out of the bag! 2015 promises already to be a great year.

We want to say a huge thank you to all of those who have been involved in the Africa Web TV project this year. Our appreciation goes both to those behind and in front of the camera. Special thanks to Kees, Phay, Edith, Sheila (in Nairobi), Aureliarita, Henry and Khady. Our appreciation to the cast and crew of Affiong Goes To Europe (Anita, Henry, Cindy, Vivian, Sonie, Mr. Bensen & Steven). Special shout out to the ever-growing number of organisations which made use of the services of Africa Web TV in 2014. We are happy for your vote of confidence!

Every year several new “Africa-themed” TV or media organisations spring up like mushrooms in The Netherlands but at the end of the day everybody is tuning in to Africa Web TV! Watch a highlight video of some of Africa Web TV’s productions in 2014 and see for yourself why we continue to be the flag bearer.

We always welcome people, (Africans and non-Africans) with great ideas to contact Africa Web TV. If you have a talent that you want to improve on, be it in front or behind the scenes, don’t hesitate to contact us. We will be glad to make an appointment with you at our office/studio in Rotterdam!

We wish you a very happy, healthy and productive 2015. Don’t forget to subscribe to Africa Web TV on Youtube,  to like Africa Web TV on Facebook and to follow Africa Web TV both on Twitter  and Pinterest amongst others. Most importantly; spread the word and tell your friends, colleagues, neighbours about Africa Web TV!
